My Maytag Neptune washing machine fills and drains, but does not spin. I have checked the belt and the control panel board for the Q6, R11 Wax motor problem, and it does not appear to be burnt. What do I check next?

Does the "lock" indicator light go on when it comes to spin?

Does it agitate?

The machine shuts off when after it fills with water and is supposed to agitate or spin. The door lock indicator light has not worked for about 3 years. I will try to replace this today.

I have now replaced the door lock indicator light globe. While doing this, I discovered a couple of burnt (?) wires. One is coming from the first black connector on the right of panel (1 white wire, 1 black wire) directly below registors D5, D2, D3, & D4, which leads to a black connector that is attached to the wash selector dial on the right front of the machine. The other is a red wire coming from the first white connector on the right of panel (next to the black connector mentioned above - 1 yellow wire, 1 blue wire, 1 red wire) directly below register R154 and leading down to a connector panel at the bottom front right of the machine.
I am hoping that this may be the cause of the problem. Does it sound like it to you?

Replace all burned wires. Make sure the wires terminals are not damaged and the connections are good. Give it a try and post the results.

I fixed the wire problem but, unfortunately, that was not the problem. The washing machine still does not agitate or spin, however; the door lock indicator light does go on and the door is locked. I can hear the motor running, but it does not spin and it shuts itself off within a minute.

I would pull the back panel and look for either a bad belt, or jammed spin basket, just try to turn the big pulley.

It still does not agitate or spin (without me rotating the pulley by hand).
