How freely was the big pulley turning in both directions?

If you hear the motor hum when you turn on to spin (but it doesn't spin), you may have a bad capacitor. Easy fix. Check capacitor to see if it's bad, if so, replace and wash away your troubles.:) :) :)

In response to Gene: The big pulley moves quite freely in both directions when move manually.

In response to Robert11: When testing the machine on spin cycle the last two days, the motor is no longer humming :( .

I am now having the same problem. It is not the wax motor issue as I have had this one before so I know what to look for. Lock light lit, pump draining water but when unit tries to spin the unit shuts down. I can hit the start button and the unit starts pumping water again then shuts down when trying to spin. Drum turns freely by hand.

I thought it might be the motor so I tested it with an ohm meter and the motor is fine. I am now thinking it might be something in the switch or wash selection dial.
