I'm not sure if my heating element is out or not. I still have heat but I have to run the dryer 2-3 cycles in order to dry one load of clothes all the way. I cleaned out the lint traps and don't know if it could just be a heating element. Does anyone here know? Thanks for the help!

it is probably the bi-metal thermostat if you have a good exhaust flow and you are getting some heat, if the thermo cycles too early(shuts element off at a lower temp) it will need replaced

Very rare a thermostat fails like this, you may have a burnt wire or your dryer is overheating. Remove ducting from dryer, stick a thermometer in the duct and run dryer. Post the temperature.

In addition to all above:
Most likely the problem is clogged up vent outside the dryer. All moister stays inside the dryer due to insufficient air flow causing long time to dry.
Disconnect the vent hose from the back of the dryer and run a couple loads with the hose disconnected. You should see a big difference.

Good luck.
Gene.
