I have a Frigidaire washer that I believe is made by Electrolux. It is leaking water above the transmission from where the shaft enters the tub. I am assuming the seal is bad.
Is there more than one shaft seal and how do you replace it/them?
Thanks.

Hi Chris, As you can see on the break down diagram there is one tub seal (#26) which consists of two parts. You can find the complete instructions in the service manual. - The part number for the tub seal is AP2142342 Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire washer Model FWSB34RGS0Gene.

Thank you very much Gene. That information seems straightforward.
I have almost no experience working on washers. Would you recommend a beginner try this repair?
Thanks again.

Gene, I hope you are still around as I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for your assistance on this thread as it resolved my problem. I was able to diagnose my problem as a faulty tub seal and was able to pick on up at a local appliance parts store, but wasn't sure how to proceed from there. Following your advice and d/l'ing the service manual made it very easy. The only problem that slowed me down was the 12 years worth of caked-on fabric softener on the drive hub and trunnion. ;) Thanks again, btw, my washer is a FWS845GCS3 Originally Posted by: Gene Hi Chris, As you can see on the break down diagram there is one tub seal (#26) which consists of two parts.
