Please do not take offense but do you have have power. Also when checking for continuity did you disconnect at least one side of any device you were checking. This ensures that you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path.
First try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker and the heating coil requires the full 240 volts. If this does nothing. Measure the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the unit's terminal strip to ensure they are properly connected and none of them have burned off If OK Plug the unit in and check the voltage at the terminal strip. This is just in case you have a bad line cord. Be careful 240 volts is lethal. If OK Unplug the unit and check the heating coil and thermostats etc. for continuity. |

Our dryer still tumbles the clothes but will not produce any heat. The timer doesn't work on any selection except for timed drying. We have checked fuses/voltage/continuity. We have 240 V all the way to the heater coil. It stoped working after the unit was moved. Any help?? Please?

Unless your unit is the same model number, please start a new thread/post using "POST NEW TOPIC" in this section. Otherwise it will just get confusing.
It sounds like your heating coil is broken (open) Many units get power directly from one side of the line when in timed dry but when in auto modes, they get power through the heating coil when it is turned off. |
