Does the timer not advance in both timed dry and auto dry cycles? Try resetting the AC panel breaker for the dryer. Sometimes one half of the breaker can trip without tripping the whole thing.

The dryer is supplied with 240vac between L1 and L2, and 120vac between L1 and neutral. The 120 volts runs the drive motor, 240 volts runs the heater coil and the timer motor. Sounds like you are missing the L2 leg. You need to check with multimeter for 240vac at the dryer receptacle. If you have it there, then check for it at the back of the dryer behind the small cover near top middle where the power cord connects to the terminal block. If you have it there, unplug the dryer and check that the terminal block connections are tight and there are no broken wires or burning/melting of any wires connected there. If all good then you need to check the motor connector. The L2 leg goes to the heater coil and timer motor via the motor switch. The wires/terminals at the motor switch may be faulty or the switch itself may be faulty. This will be the two red wires at the outer ends of the motor connector. If you have 240vac at the power cord terminal block, then check for it at the timer between timer terminals BK and WB with dryer running. If you don't have it there, the motor switch may be faulty or the red wires/terminals at motor connector are faulty. Be careful checking for 240vac, it can be lethal. Keep your fingers clear of all live terminals.
