Freezer and refrigerator side are not cold enough. All the food in the freezer has defrosted and the temp in there is about 20 degrees and the temp on the fridge side is upper 40's to lower 50's. Compressor runs, condensor coil have been cleaned out, it runs a normal defrost cycle and when compressor is running, there is frost on evpaorator coils. Is it possible the thermostat on the evaporator is bad?

How is the evaporator covered with snow? Are all coils covered?

Does the fan inside the freezer work?

Gene.

If the evaporator coils are only partially frozen, you have refrigeration problems for a pro. to look at.

When I took the cover off of the back of the freezer only a quater of the evaporator had frost on it, it was all all the lower half. Thanks for your help.

Ignore Wetop. you best get a pro. to look at it if it's worth it. You might have an evaporator leak or a bad compressor.
