Sounds like the main drum bearing is wearing out. Lots of noise on the spin cycle. Any help on how to remove and replace. Model MAH4000AWW

What exactly is the wax motor? and should I plan on replacing it while I am doing the bearing job.

The wax motor is a part of the door latch and it has nothing to do with the bearing problem unless there is more problems with your washer.

I replaced my bearings after a lot of intensive web investigation. There is one important item that nobody talks about, that is, properly seating the drum. So I put up a web page on it at neptune bearingshope this helps somebody because if those bearings are not seated water gets in and all is in vain.
