Have you checked the wires at the motor plug? A broken wire could cause it.

Mine is a Kenmore/Whirlpool doing the same thing. I have replaced the capacitor and have had two motors sent from APP with no change. All the thing will do is sit and buzz.

If the motor just sits there and will not shut down, you have a bad start circuit, probably a bad timer.

Well I'll start from scratch

WP model LSR7233BQ1

Washer agitates great but when it comes to pumping out the water and spinning it stops and has a loud buzz sound. It doesn't matter what wash cycle it's the same thing. I checked the lid switch and it works fine, checked the pump for a clog and it was clear has a burn smell also.

Was suggested "Broken wire @ motor"---- Checked NO bad terminals, connections OR corrosion.... "Capacitor"---- Replaced with new, SAME results...... agitates in all cycles.. Stops when it gets to pump out water and spin all I get is a buzz in all cycles.

Suggested bad timer.

NEW QUESTION....... Can the timer be ohmed? IF so where can get the schematics showing what terminals to check & what the ohms should read.

OR do I have to buy a new timer??? 100 bucks +

Thank you ALL for your thoughts and suggestions

Pull the timer cover and check for burnt contacts.

I thank you guys for all of the information you have posted.

I pulled the timer out and removed the contact block so I could get to all of the contact surfaces. I saw where 3 of the contacts had welded together and others were just burned, Thanks richappy for that line of thought. I took a very small file and filed the contact surfaces off, re-installed the contact block back into the timer and plugged it in. Set it on spin and I could here the pump run and it started to spin turned everything off and installed a NEW timer today.

Anyway it's fixed and seems to be working fine
Thanks again
