washing mechine over flows water will not stop

If the water will not stop when the machine is off, replace the water valve assembly.
If the water will stop when the machine is turned off, check the tube running from the tub to the water pressure switch. It is probably obstructed.
If you need more info please post your full model number and the results of your checking the above.
