We are having our kitchen retiled and moved the refrigerator into the living room. It worked fine for a day or 2 and then we unplugged it to do some painting. Now, it doesn't work at all - no light, nothing. The outlet is fine. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting this?

You'll need a voltmeter to troubleshoot this one... It's possible you may have a defective power cord... When checking for voltages be sure to include the neutral circuit which may be burnt open... I saw this once before, I got a reading on my meter when probing a live terminal and placing the other probe on the fridge cabinet (ground) but no reading at all when probing the white wire on the light socket inside the fridge compartment... Found a broken white wire inside the molded plug of the power cord...
