we have an LG front load washing machine. It fills with water, then the drum doesn't spin and code LE appears on display. Can anyone help with this?

Oh gosh, this is the curse of the LG's. Froim what I have heard sometimes even LG tech's cannot sort this out, and they are at least there to look at it.
The error code means your CCU is not detecting the motor turning the tub, so it shuts things down. The problem can be the wiring between the CCU and motoir control unit, the motor control unit, the hall sensor (a tachometer type thingie) or the CCU itself.
The first thing to do is to check the wiring for breaks, shorts, or places where the insulation has rubbed off. These LG's are notorious for that.
If that is not the case the hall sensor is the next thing to look at, but you will probably have to replace it to tell if it is the problem. If you will post a model number we may be able to post a manual for you.

Thanks for the info. I think I figured it out. I emptied the load, started it, it worked and has been working sinse. Must have been overloaded.

Interesting! The overload must have triggered the motor control/hall sensor to shut it down.
Glad you got it going, and thanks for the update.
