My GE washer makes a loud sound during the spin cycle. I haver read the forums and have found ref. to Bearings and Couplers. My question is what kind of job would it be to replace both these parts and should I replace one over the other?? Is there any trouble shooting I can do to isolate the faild part??
I believe that the Coupler is p/n AP3964635 and the Bearing is AP2046288.
Thank you in advance,
TT

I have the same problem that you have. The same model too (except for the last 2 letters). Does yours sound like a jet during the spin cycle? I hope this gets answered.

Cristi.
Yes - it does sound like a jet. Try this. Take of the belt and run the spin cycle - if it sounds loud then it 's the motor. If not I don't know what problem is... I will be looking for other answers. If I find them I'll post.

The part is $136.00. I don't want to start something I would regret. I have read a few people when faced with replacing this part just give up and buy a new washer. TT
