I am not sure what you are exactly trying to do, but if you will call the nice folks at APP and give them your model number they will sell you the parts (we don't work for them so we cannot help you directly)

You should be able to access the heater by taking off the top, either by unscrewing from the top of the door jam or releasing clips at the edge between the front and the top, and then taking off the front.
