My GE washer (WHDSR316GOWW) agitates fine, but spins very slowly so the clothes stay dripping wet. I checked the lid switch...its' OK. Pump works and drain is clear. Belt appears in good shape. It simply does not kick into a high speed spin. I'm thinking its the timer or perhaps a solenoid problem?
Suggestions greatly appreciated!

Take off the front and observe the motor and drive pulley in the spin mode and see if you can determine what is happening. Also, this machine has error codes from the flashing light on the motor. Here is a site which will enable you to see if you are getting an error code. Some errors cause the machine to slow the spin. HydroWave GE Washer Repair Guide

Thanks! I did not notice the tiny flashing light before. It was blinking 9 times indicating that the break resistor failed. If it was a true failure, the motor would have had to been replaced. However, we were able to reset/clear it this time by unplugging the machine for 20 seconds, plugging it back in, and then opening/closing the lid 5 times. Now it works fine! Thanks so much again. Great service.
