Water fills the tub but does not go into the manifold to reach the botton, middle and top spray arms. The dishwasher drains however. I removed the bottom accumulator and tried to remove protector cover over the small pump and could not, is this the drain pump?–how do you loosen it. I stuck my finger down into the plastic pump blade and it moved easily. I’m guessing this is not the real problem as I am worried that the main pump might be no good. How do you tell? If it is the main pump, is this only removeable from the bottom of the cabinet?
Gene, I tried to remove the protector without a ton of force but it wouldn’t budge. There is a nubbin on the top. Do I try to pry from that nubben. Looks like there is also a litlle plastic lock handle on the right side of the protector. I pried on that and nothing happenned.
You probably did not read through the whole thread I posted in the previous reply. On the page 2 it says: “Rotate the screw-end of the protector upward to remove the part and expose the chopper assembly”.
Well, the problem was a plugged chopper screen that kept the water from going up the manifold. I took it apart, cleaned the screen and put it back together. Three weeks later the screen was clogged again. I cleaned it again. Now two wereks later it is clogged again. How do I fix this so it doesn’t become clogged?
It is a lot of small fiberous type material. It is caked onto the screen on both sides.
Item 1,on the diagram, the accumulator screen looks good.
What is item 5 on the diagram and how /where is it installed? Could that be an issue?
The diagram shows a protector as item 9. I do not see where I have that. Where does that go and could that cause a problem?
WHERE DOES THE CHECK VALVE GO? BETWEEN THE CHOPPER AND THE SHAFT? IF SO I DON’T HAVE ONE
I was mistaken, I have 9 in the digram and 5 is probably not the issue. I noticed that the inside rib on the plastic chopper protector cover is worn where the screen sets. Could that be an issue.? I would hate to pay $33.00,plus shipping for that small piece of plastic, if that did not solve the problem.
This sounds very unusual. I would try to run a white vinegar before order any parts.
Start the normal cycle with no dishes the dishwasher. After the dishwasher filled up with water, open the door and pour a gallon of white vinegar on the bottom. Do not restart the dishwasher. Let it sit there for about 12 hours, then run the cycle. It should clean the dishwasher from a hard water deposits.
The chopper is again clogging up every 2 wks. Could the check valve be the problem as it keeps the water from backing down the drain tube . Also on a previous post it indicated that the check valve ,item 5 was between the chopper assy and the impeller, however when I take the chopper assy off, I see nothing but the axle of the impeller that engages the axle of the chopper. Is the valve supposed to be there?. Is it also possible that the chopper assy is worn. Looks like the four tits on the white plastic chopper axle are worn. Are they supposed to be a square cut.

I can not find where the check valve goes. I think this could be the problem and would like to order a new chopper assy and check valve but then wouldn’t know where to install the check valve.
According to the thread the check valve is located to the right of the chopper assembly. If that is correct, I have no check valve because I can find nothing resembling a black rubber flap. That is why I believe the chopper assy is getting clogged from dirty water coming back into the assy. I also intend to purchase the chopper assy, just for good measure.
[quote=Gene;556271]If it’s correct and the check valve is missing then you should have plenty of water inside the dishwasher while it’s off for a while.

All I really want to know is "where is the check valve located and how do I find it and access it to replace:(
