I'm having a problem with my icemaker in my GE profile Side by side. After reading numerous threads I decided to replace the dual water valve today (p/n wr57x10051). Still no water to the icemaker, but water dispenses to the door fine. Then took the next step and swapped the connectors on the dual solenoid and by hitting the front door water dispenser I was able to get water into the ice maker confirming that I had no blockages in the water line. So now I'm back to water to the door, but not the icemaker. The icemaker label says it is p/n is a WR30x0306. I'm not sure if the IM is dead or not. Do you have a way to check and or self cycle? I've tried moving the lever to stop and then on/off/on/off/on but that does not seem to work. I've taken the IM out and cleaned it and put it back - no help. The connector to the side all of the freezer is a round, 4 prong connector. GE lines are 0 help.
Ideas? I don't want to replace the IM if that is not the problem and I don't know how to check to see if it's working. Also if I need to replace I can't find the right p/n to replace since mine is no longer available.
Thanks.

open the WR30X0306 by removing the white square cover about 4 inch square, then remove the 3 screws for the metal cover(caution-sharp edges, i cut my self) check the switch, there's 3 of them(use an ohm meter) if there's resistance, if not you need a new switch(about $12). Also check gears if loose or worn out. On the inside part of the white square cover, there's an electrical diagram.
