When the start button is pressed I only hear a buzzing sound and it doesn't start. After disassembling the whole dryer I find that if I spin the motor while pressing the start button it works fine. Is there a start cap for the motor that I am missing, don't see it.Thanks for any assistance

Thanks for the responses. After taking it apart and cleaning/reseating connectors it seems to be working. not sure what fixed it, but it is back together and have run 2 loads already with no issue. thanks again

If it happens again when you take it apart check that the centrifugal switches on the motor are not actuated. Could be that the actuator in the motor was stuck and the switches were closed. This then removes the start winding from the circuit and the motor will not start.
Could also just be a bad connection.
With a little luck you may have fixed it permanently. |
