My washer will drain but will not spin. Someone told me it was the transmission and I wanted to know if this is correct.

I would say it is the drive coupler. It a small part that drives the transmission. It,s not expensive and would be worth fixing.

TINA,S washer is not a belt drive,so there is a coupling that runs the gear case.On your washer the wigwag controls the spin/drain on one side of the coil and the agitation on the other side.On Tina washer there is no wigwag. On Tina direct drive washer the COUPLING RUNS THE SPIN CYCLE AND THE AGITATION CYCLE.
