Thank you for your reply. My GE side by side refrigerator is freezing everything in the fresh food compartment especially in the bottom shelves, drawers and door. I was told that it's probably the thermostat. When I looked at the chart in the temperature control box, there was a defrost timer and a cold controller. Which one should I change. The 1st thing I did was lowering the setting to the lowest dial (1); but that did not help. The compressor kept running constantly non stop. The temperature in the freezer compartment seems OK although I did not get a temperature reading. I can also feel a very cold breeze coming from the back of the refrigerator even when the door are shut.
