I have a wonderful Amana fridge. My ice maker came with it and I have had it repaired once in the past. Most recently, the ice maker filled the ice tray with water. I figured it was time to just replace it. However, I wanted to make sure before I spent the money for a new one - that I didn't just need a valve. The mfg number on the fridge is P1194701WW. Can you please advise me what you think I should do?
If you do feel I should buy a new ice maker, do you think the harness that I have now will work? And the arm? Everything, including the ice maker, looks brand new. But, I'm not sure it will all work together.
I appreciate your help! Kelly

Hi, am I doing something wrong with my post? The lady at the 800# who told me to post this thought I would hear something back within 24 hours. I am waiting on this info to order something for the icemaker - but my real purpose for my order were hinges for the stove...so I'm holding up my husband... :-) Thanks for your help! Kelly, In such situation there is more chance for the water valve to be bad. It can be stuck open, causing an excessive amount of water coming into the ice maker, which happens pretty often. - The water valve Part number: AP4013326
