need help badly. OLD Hotpoint washer fills motor kicks in but seconds only doesnot agitate, spin or drain. can not read model number and am at a loss.:eek::confused:

The name plate with the model number is on the bottom left side of the washer cabinet.

Remove the rear panel. Remove the belt and check how freely the pump and the transmission pulley are moving.

my timer might be the problem it seems to continue to run most of the time through all the cycles and might work properly if it feels like it. i managed to get through a cycle most of the way and the timer clicked through the engage spot before the spinning got started. model no. is WLW3500AALAD BY HOTPOINT and is at least 15 years old. exact age unknown got it used.

Possible the timer is the culprit. The model number you posted does not come up and I'm not able to find the correct part number for the timer.

found paper with part no. WH12X631 for the switch assembly

Where did you find these part numbers? They both for a timer switches. Such switch is actually a collection of terminals where wire plug is connected to a timer.

GE part# WH12X631 is Appliance Parts Pros part# AP2045612. It is available and the APP price is $97.90

The switch with the part# WH12X632 is no longer available.
