Hi, I have a ge side by side fridge. Freezer side is cool and refridgerator side warm. Compressor and both fans working. Ice and frost on back wall of freezer. Any ideas of what I could check next?? Or what the problem is?

That is definitely a defrost problem. i dont have a way to see your exact model but there is generally 3 parts that will cause that problem.. the defrost heater(s) which is most likely. the defrost timer and then the defrost thermostat (most rare). the defrost heater will be located behind that wall with all the frost build up - you will need to unplug the fridge and let all that frost and ice melt thats behind that freezer wall. once its melted find the heater or heaters if theres two and look for any obvious damage to them (can test with a meter for continuity) and then post the results

You have a manual defrost timer in the fridg. section. Just look for an opening in the control panel and turn the defrost timer till the compressor stops running. If you now get defrost action, replace the defrost timer. If not, replace the defrost heater assembly AP2071464.
