A friend's Frigidaire fghb2800lfe refrigerator was delivering only crushed ice. After reading several forums, I determined that the cube/crushed solenoid was probably bad, and ordered a new one.

Upon taking out the old solenoid, and testing it, it was physically locked with the shaft tilted to one side. It was also showing a direct short on a multi-meter (confirmed by applying 120v to the terminals and popping a house circuit breaker).

I tested the new solenoid, and installed it, but it appears that it's not getting voltage.

Any suggestions on where to go next?

The shorted solenoid probably fried the control board.

Is your model no. FGHB2844LFE ?

Here is a wiring diagram for that model no.
