the drain pump is growling and making quite a racket when the machine is running. Any way to repair or do I just replace?

Remove the bottom panel.
Remove the filter from the drain pump and check for a foreign objects inside. Be prepared for some water on the floor.
For more accurate advise I need the complete model number of the washer.
Gene.

Gene. Hi Gene, The Whirlpool model is GHW9100LW. I cleaned out the filter, some dirt and grease, but other than that there wasn't much in there.
