Short version: Can anyone provide a schematic or instructions of how the water inlet valve is put together?
This is my first post, so I don't know if the information gets posted automatically, but this is for a GE Nautilus GSC3200G01WW.
Longer version:
- Wife ran the dishwasher and forgot to turn on the water. :(
- As a result, the dishwasher would not drain because the soap was baked and was clogging everything up. Side note: baked soap apparently turns into a type of putty. No bueno.
- I cleaned everything I could (inside, sump housing, etc.) and thought that would fix it.
- Plugged the washer back in, turned it on (with the water this time) and no joy. It was not filling with water.
- I thought, "Hmm, maybe the hoses are clogged." So, took those off and they were fine.
- Then I thought, "Hmm, maybe this little thing where the hose connects is clogged." So, I take off what I now know is the water inlet valve. When I pull it apart, the spring and a little metal rod go flying.
- Now I can't figure out how to reassemble it.
- I thought about just buying a replacement part, but the part is more than we paid for the washer. So, I need some help putting humpty back together again.
