The dryer turns on, but when start button is pushed a "click" is heard and nothing happens. During diagnostics the error code "3E" comes up. The thermal fuse has continuity.

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag MED9700SB0 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for a tech sheet. Have you tried unplugging the unit for several minutes to see if it will reset? Run the tests in the tech sheet. Unplug the unit and measure from P1-4 to P1-3 at the control boar with a meter. You should see about 1 to 2 ohms (the motor windings, thermal fuse and belt switch circuit). In the tech sheet they say up to 6 ohms this seems high to me as even two motor windings at 4 ohms gives a 2 ohm measurement as they are in parallel. Be sure to use the most sensitive meter scale and short the meter leads together before starting so you can see it there is a zero offset in the meter. If the above is OK measure from P1-3 to Neutral, should be 0 ohms. If both are OK then odds are that the control board is shot. |
