I have a whirlpool quiet partner II that has been having issues turning on and finishing cycles. I often have to push the buttons in random orders on the control panel just to get it to start (and it never ends up on the setting I want). It will then often stop halfway through a cycle (I'm not sure if it's halfway or not). The soap dispenser has opened and the dishes seem clean enough but there are lights flashing on the control panel and, if I'm lucky enough to find the combination of buttons to get it to start up again it usually starts the cycle over. It might go through the cycle or it might stop after a minute and the lights on the buttons start flashing again. It hasn't drained on its own in quite some time and I have to push the cancel/drain button for it to drain properly, and even then sometimes the button won't work (it flashes, too).
After reading other posts about similar problems I'm leaning towards the problem being the control panel or control board. Would the problem be one or both? How can I figure out what the real problem is before purchasing the correct part? Thanks for the advice.

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool DU1148XTPB6 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. The usual way to troubleshoot is to disconnect the control panel (keypad) and check it with a meter. If all the switches check out OK then replace the control board. Still a bit of a crap shoot but your odds are better. |

My dishwasher has the pots and pans and normal cycle lights are flashing intermittent. sometimes they will stop flashing after a while but when you push the start button it goes into it's fault cycle. I tested the chip board and it has power through it. Any info will be appreciated
