I have a maytag dryer that will not heat. I took the front cover off and it will ignite and then go out. A few seconds later it will ignite again. Is this a simple fix? Cleaned vent and it is fine? Where should i start first? Thanks for the help. Jim

From your wording it's confusing you say it won't ignite but then it does back and forth. You're problem after trying to figure out what your saying sounds like the coils are going out possibly or you have an issue with the main board not delivering voltage to ignitor maybe.

Sorry to be confusing. I misspoke. Let me clarify. It will if night but will not stay lit. The flame goes out after a few seconds. Then it will do it again.
