Having problems with freezer condenser coils icing over. Can anyone tell me how to initiate a forced defrost cycle.

Sounds like you have found the problem.
I would also visually check the defrost thermostat. If it is deformed (bulged) replace it even if it seems to be OK. Bulging is due to water getting in it and it is now unreliable. |

The defrost thermostat will be clipped onto the top of the evaporator coils in the freezer. It is item 32 in the Evaporator / Evap Motor / Rollers Parts. I could not find it in the part breakdown diagrams but it is listed.
The defrost is controlled by the main control board (item 5 in the Control Parts section) |
