Having problems with freezer condenser coils icing over. Can anyone tell me how to initiate a forced defrost cycle.
Thanks.

Thank you for forwarding the info. I have initiated several forced defrost cycles and it has helped reduce the amount of build up on the evaporator coils. As of this writing, it has yet to clear all the ice build up. In addition to running the forced defrost cycles I ran the other test programs. If I'm reading them correctly it appears everything is working properly.

I suspect replacing the defrost cycle circuit board might be in order as the amount of time the unit spends in defrost is not being calculated properly.

Any further advise?

Once again, thank you!!

Sounds like you have found the problem.

I would also visually check the defrost thermostat. If it is deformed (bulged) replace it even if it seems to be OK. Bulging is due to water getting in it and it is now unreliable.

Thank you very much for the help. I have another question. Where will I find the defrost thermostat and defrost control board?

The defrost thermostat will be clipped onto the top of the evaporator coils in the freezer. It is item 32 in the Evaporator / Evap Motor / Rollers Parts. I could not find it in the part breakdown diagrams but it is listed.

The defrost is controlled by the main control board (item 5 in the Control Parts section)

Once again, I thank you for your patience and assistance. I will order a replacement control board.
