That means the mode shifter has failed. This requires complete disassembly of the machine to replace and you likely need to replace the motor/inverter as well.

So trying to clear the code won't work. Will it be expensive to have this fixed?

Yes, you can try clearing the code. Unplug washer for one minute, plug back in and open/close the lid several times quickly. If mode shifter is faulty, code will return. Normally, if the shifter fails, the washer motor will still work but the entire basket will go back and forth during agitate mode. That's why I say you likely need to replace the motor/inverter as well. Parts alone are nearly $400.

Does not look good cost wise then. It is just weird that the tub doesn't move at all but the engine makes all the normal noises. They don't make things to last any more, that is for sure. Thanks for your help.

Do you know the part numbers I need so I can look up cost. Looks like it may be cheaper to replace it.

Should be another number after the G in the model number. There are versions 0 thru 6.

A washing machine miracle happened last night. Even after trying to clear the error code from the engine several times before, I tried it one last time last night and low and behold the stupid washing machine now spins and agitates. Not sure if this will be temporary but I will take whatever I can get. Hopeing to make it last at least another year. Not exactly sure why it wasn't working but glad to have it back. Thanks for all your excellent advice and patience. :)
