The washing machine will not go into spin cycle. The motor tries to turn the drum, but it can't. The motor (or something) seems to be making a clicking noise. The belt is fine, the drum spins freely by hand. I have replaced the Motor Control Unit and it did not fix the problem. I thought a motor would either turn or not turn. Any ideas?

Does the washer fill with water begin agatating and then pump the water to the drain so it can begin the spin cycle? If it fails to pump out water then the lid switch is bad. otherwise more info needed. Originally Posted by: jjlittle.64 The washing machine will not go into spin cycle. Thanks for the reply. The pump out pump works fine. It pumps out the water when I restart it. I replaced the MCU, and it did not fix it. I replaced the pump today and it is now spinning just fine. The wife is much happier. Thanks again for the reply.
