The dryer lights are displyed on the panel and door closes completely on the switch. When the Start button is pushed, I can hear a "click" sound but the dryer does not start. Ideas on what needs checked?

Here are your parts
Parts for Maytag MED6400TB0 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

I am also assuming that the interior light works. This tells you that you have the voltage (L1 to Neutral, 120 volts) to run the motor.

First I would check that the belt is OK re: belt switch is closed
Next I would check the thermal fuse.
File Attachment(s):
MED6400.pdf (455kb) downloaded 33 time(s).

Denman, thanks for your reply and suggestions. It was the thermal fuse. Replaced it this evening and dryer is once again running.

Thanks again for your help.

I had the same thing on my dryer. I found on another forum that the relay was working on the circuit board but that the solder connection on the backside of the relay was blown out. I resoldered it and we are back in business.
Here is the link to the whole thread. My repair was on page 2 , but read page one first. :rolleyes:good luck
