Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 1/23/2013(UTC) Posts: 1		My Maytag gas oven was slow to light. I have replaced the igniter. It tests at 3.4 amps. I then replaced the safety valve. When you turn the oven on, the igniter comes on, after about 45 seconds there is a smell of gas. But it doesn't light for around 15 to 30 minutes. What next?

Check the oven burner for a clogged holes. Verify that the oven igniter is properly aligned.
