Im not 100% sure but sometimes the push to start relay could be bad even though your testing may say otherwise.Part #3398094 its a fairly cheap part to try before consulting a pro.Because you know they always stick it to us for even the minor repairs.

Part Number: AP2974634
Manufacturer's Number: 3398094

I will probably give that a shot. I just got a quote to have the dryer looked at, $70 just to show up, even though i've already done half the troubleshooting.

Open the control panel and check for continuity between the BK & BK-BU and the T & W timer terminals while the timer is in any "on" position. If there is no continuity then the timer is the culprit.

- The timer Part number: AP2947073
Part number: AP2947073

GENE you are a lifesaver!

I was getting continuity on the BK and BK-BU but not the T & W. Shorted the T&W terminals and I heard that sound that I missed for so long - the motor kicking on. Timer is an expensive part though :( but it beats going to the laundromat all the time!

Hello Gene. What if you hear the timer ticking or making its usual sound as when the dryer was working but it still wont start. What could be the problem then? I have an additional whirlpool dryer and the timer seems to be rotating but it still wont start.

What is the complete model number of the dryer?

As with the most electric dryers, the first thing which has to be tested is the thermal fuse (#7 on the diagram).

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LEQ9508PW1 | AppliancePartsPros.com

Got the new timer and the dryer seems to function properly. However I havent been able to put a test load in there - I'm missing the dryer belt for the drum and a few screws. time to order more parts to get this thing assembled! It'd be nice if they offered a pack of all the screws.. instead of $2 a screw.

I appreciate the help and knowledge available on this forum. The timer was the only thing I wasn't sure how to test.
