ran one load of clothes. went to start another. cleared lint. pushed button but nothing started. let it rest half hour. went back, opened dryer door and felt heat. I could see a heating element bottom left back that was still glowing. unplugged it. plugged it back in hour later. still wouldnt turn on. i can again, though, see element lit up and feel heat. fairly new dryer yet, 4-5 months. help?

Since the dryer is new I would get it repaired under warranty.
It could be a number of things and some of them would be fairly expensive to repair.
For instance the motor has a switch on it that closes when the motor gets close to operating speed. This ensures that there is no heat until there is air flow. This switch may be shot since you get heat and did not mention any sounds (motor humming re: it is on). This would require that the motor be replaced. |
