My microwave is not getting hot. From everything I've read it looks like I should replace the magnetron. I was able to take the old magnetron out without incident.I have read in a couple of places that I should discharge the capacitor. Is this necessary befroe I try to replace the magnetron? Thanks

Hi, Quote:Is this necessary befroe I try to replace the magnetron?
For safety it's the first thing that should have been done after it was unplugged and the cabinet removed. It's still not to late and yes I would do it.
