I need to replace a Magnetron, LG 6324W1A1001M, which is no longer made and I cannot find anywhere. I need help finding a replacement. It's out of a Kenmore and Sears may or may not have a replacement but the won't sell directly to me and they won't let me speak to a repair guy to ask about substitutions. Sticker on the part says 2M246 and 310GF.

There are lots of LG 6324W1A001H's available which look identical except for the mounting brackets. Is it possible that these are electrically the same and I just need to adapt the brackets? I can't find anyone who can tell me or help me to find spec. sheets. Anybody know how the LG numbering system works?

I could not find any cross references for part number 6324W1A001M. Probably it's time for a new microwave.

Thanks Gene. Probably is time for a new unit but after many hours of fruitless digging for information, I'd still like to understand a few things, pretty much what is in the second paragraph of my post.

Are all 6324W1A001 magnetrons electronically equivalent and the letter they attach on the end only defines the mechanical stuff......mounting tabs,
orientation of what I assume are cooling fins, etc? If true, then I could make the H or L or Y versions work provided I could figure out how to mount them, right?

Besides the configuration, there is one very important part of magnetron characteristics - kV rating. If you know it, then it's not too hard to find the replacement one. If you don't, then stop it and shop for a new microwave.
