I am so glad I found this posting! I am all of a sudden having the exact same problem with my washer. I bought my machine in September 2009 and am out of warranty. I can't get a service call until the middle of next week. I am going to try the recall number tomorrow to see if my machine qualifies, but in the meantime how do I get the water out of the machine? Also if it qualifies for the recall does Sears cover the necessary work to fix it all? Thanks everyone for your help!

where did you get the instructions for the automatic diagnosis and where or how did you reset the pressure sensor

The automated diagnostics did not show a failure, and the technician's troubleshooting guide had numerous manual initiated tests to try - though none exactly matched the conditions of Ld code with empty washer tub. I tried all the tests without finding an error; with the last test, I eventually reset the pressure sensor zero reading. This action seemed logical as the washer drain pump would continue to run after emptying the tub; it didn't seem to "know" that it was empty and move onto the spin cycle. This reset worked for now - we've done 3-4 loads with no problem. I have my fingers crossed that I don't have to replace the control board!!

Gunny,

The Technical Data Sheet, for your machine should be attached to the inside of the front cabinet panel, in an envelope.
(you can access it by raising the top of the washer, or from underneath, by raising the front of the washer).

It'll have everything you need to run the diagnostic codes, test and operate individual components, etc.

Don't know your present circumstances or error code(s), but if you're getting the "LD" code, That code stands for "Long Drain", the control board expects to see a change in the resistance of the water level circuit, within a certain amount of time.

If you're positive , you have no kinks or clogs in the drain hose, or drain pump, if you're sure the air dome hose( the palstic tube on the right rear side of the tub, going up to the control board) is not clogged or kinked, you will need a new control board.

Part number: AP4360738
Part number: AP4360738

Recalibrating / adjusting the control is a "temporary" repair, and you will start getting the "LD" code eventually.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

JnC, You should find the tech data / information sheet attached to the inside of the front panel of the washer. Page 6 of the manual will advise you of the procedure and programming of the control if needed.

If the manual is missing, we've attached a "basic" manual for the model number you supplied.

JnC, Sometimes that can occur. Time and money seem to be the most concerning factor.

Good Luck with the new washer.

I just wanted to let others know that I have model #110.27082604 and it is also recalled. I called the phone number above and at first they told me that it wasn't recalled. After explaining that I was having the SAME problems as the other model number, some how my model number was ALSO recalled. So, I am now waiting for my control board to arrive to see if it fixes my problem! I don't know that I will purchase with Sears again considering I was NEVER notified of this recall and even has an extended warranty with them :( SO SAD SEARS!!!
