timer comes on but dryer won't run. replaced the thermostats but that didn't work. when dryer did come on it ran a few minutes, got warm and stopped and now will not come on at all. flipped the breakers slowly, didn't work. do we need to replace the fuse or the whole motor?

Hi Leslie
Sorry for your difficulties. You need to have a test meter to diagnose the problems. First check with the meter to make sure you have 120 volts to each side of the connection block. Then check continuity of your thermal fuses and thermostats (I know you replaced them but check anyway). Finally, check the heating element.
If all of these check out, and they probably your problem can be in the start switch, timer or motor. From what you have described the motor is the likely candidate.
Good luck.
