Our dryer has no heat. We took the back apart and we found a part that looks burnt. We figured out that it is the safety switch part # AP2042653 but would that cause no heat in the dryer? I don't want to get it if that has nothing to do with no heat.

Hi Rosalie
I have not worked on that part on this type of dryer, and GE who makes H
otpoint is very close with service data on the machine, so I cannot say for certain that the switch is your problem, but it is highly likely and if it is bad it should be replaced anyway.
If you decide to go ahead and replace it let us know if that solves your problem.
Good luck!
