I'm trying to replace the worn dogs in my Whirlpool lsn1000kqo. I got the agitator assembly out of the tub but can not pull the top part off of the bottom part. I have pulled really hard while standing on bottom section. Do I need to do something else? Thank you for your help.

Do you use a lot of fabrick softener? The agitator gets gunked up and sometimes is very difficult to separate.

What you are going to have to do is get a tall bucket and soak it in hot water, changing out the water to keep it hot until you can pull it apart.

Becare, and if you can get some help.
