I noticed when I'm not using my washing machine, it smells like there is water inside of it that is stagnant, (it smells like rotten eggs). I can move the drum around and hear water. Is this normal?

There is always some water sitting in the sump assembly of a washer that can be heard when you move the unit. Try running a hot wash with a little bleach to keep the odor at bay.
