evaporator fan not working. evaporator has frost on it. what controls the fan? and how to check it? have tested for voltage at fan does not have 110. or is it less voltage? help.

The evaporator fan motor controls by the adaptive defrost control as well as the defrost itself. Sounds like this part has gone bad. - The part number for the adaptive defrost control is AP3214257Gene.

I would remove the fan and motor and stick 115 volts to it. No run= new fan needed. If the compressor is running and no voltage to the fan motor, you might have a bad freezer door switch.
