My freezer and refrig. are not cooling. The compressor is hot, so I turned it off and unpluged the frig. untill the compressor was cool. I pluged frig. back in, set temp control to the middle (#3) and waited about 45 min. The compressor was again hot and both the freezer and frig. were warm. I have tested the following and they seam to test SAT: Starter/overload as Part Number: AP2114982 made by FRIGIDAIRE Capacitor, run - Specs: 220 VAC, 15 microfarad Part Number: AP4315853 made by FRIGIDAIRE Temp control Part Number: AP2150703 made by FRIGIDAIRE Timer, defrost - Specs: 60hz, 120v, 8hr. 30min. Part Number: AP2111929 made by FRIGIDAIRE

Is the condenser fan running? Are the condenser coils warm? If yes see if the evaporator coils have any frost or ice on them. Behind the back cover inside the freezer.

If the condenser coils, which are next to the compressor, are not warm then we need to stop there. Either the compressor isn't doing it's job or the system is low on freon. That's not a diy job.

I have checked everything. I called a repaireman today--he said that there is a leak in the freon. He could not find the leak so I bought a new frige. the old one was built 1998.
Problem solved. Thanks for yopur help with me. I did not know all of the components to test.
