I read the trouble shooting blog and know what to do; however, I would like to know where to look for the igniter/coils before I start disassembling my dryer. I have been unable, so far, to locate this on my own. Additionally, what tools/devices am I likely to need to do this? Thanks in advance!

The burner assembly is located on the left side of the dryer and will require the front panel be removed to access. The coils ( AP2150379) are the likely problem if the igniter is glowing, but the gas is not igniting. You can verify by this my peeking into the whole which has a small square cover over it located below and to the left of the door. Start a load and if you see the igniter glowing, but no gas, the coils would be the problem. Basic hand tools is about all you need to complete this repair.

I've just been dealing with a dryer that does just air dry - not fun. What I have noticed is that at times, the "glow" is there and the gas does not ignite; at other times, there is no glow at all. The rarest occasion ever is when the gas actually ignites. Even if it does that, it doesn't stay on every time(sometimes, joy of joys, it does!). Any clues? I'm wondering if I don't just need a new(er) dryer.

Based on the information from your first and second posts, my clue to you would be a new set of coils. If you want a new dryer, that sounds great, but if you want your current dryer to keep working, I would suggest a new set of coils.
