first i had water pouring from the icemaker. i replaced the solenoid valve assm. ice made once and water again poured from the icemaker. i have replaced the icemaker with a new one. it has been hooked up for 28 hrs and has not worked yet. i have turned the controls up and checked to make sure all connection to the icemaker are tight. ( the icemaker is a whirlpool ). is there any thing else i need to check for? will the icemaker still cycle if if it is a water problem?

Try filling the ice tray manually and see if it starts cycling after it freezes and dumps the ice.

I tryed that with no luck. when I replaced the icemaker I had to unhook the power supply at the ice maker itself. I installed the new icemaker using the same power supply hookup. the black wire has a plastic clip on it that attaches to the side of the ice tray. Is that some type of inline fuse or power switch. I have used a test light at the end of the plug that hooks to the icemaker to check for power, I show no power between the black and white wire.
