The dryer will not start. It beeps one time and the timer counts down. I know the door is shut becuase the lights goes out. When I open the door the light comes on, so I do not think it is the light switch.

Easy repair. Unplug the dryer, and then take the front off, and then you will see the lint duct. Open the dryer door, and pull the filter out, Where the filter rests inside is the lint duct. There will be a 1/4 inch screw on each side of the lint duct. Take them out and remove the duct, then you will see the thermal fuse. It is white in color. The part # is 3390719. If you want to be sure that is the problem, take the 2 wires off of the thermal fuse, and put them together with a little tape around it, so it does not hit metal, and plug it in and see if it works. If so DO NOT RUN the dryer like that. That fuse is the only thing keeping that dryer from burning down the house. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
