When the dryer is running and on high heat, should all the coils in the heating element become cherry red?
Looking, from below the element, with a mirror, it seems that the coils at the top of the element are cherry red & some of those at the bottom are not red at all.

Sounds OK to me.
The redness will depend on the air flow. Where the air enters the heater assembly it will be colder so it will cool the coils more. |
